After a short break, we’re back. It’s time to show you what we’ve been working on. Introducing Imperium (Squishy), a PORON®-based control (surface speed) mouse pad. Along with the PORON® base, Imperium benefits from improved edge stitching techniques. Imperium (Squishy) employs below-surface stitching for irritation-free gaming. With these features, Imperium (Squishy) is esports-ready, and we’ve been sending out the pads to various pros in Counter-Strike and Valorant to try it out for themselves. Like our first mouse pad, Imperium (Squishy) features beautiful artwork, making it more than just a mouse pad, but also a staple on your desk.

We also sent both Thasis and the new Imperium pad to the Centre for Industrial Rheology out in the United Kingdom for friction analysis. There we confirmed that the new pad is slower than Thasis, and that its PORON® base leads to a higher dynamic friction ramp-up when weight is applied compared to Thasis when weight is applied (you can learn more about this in the Pad Lab). This facet allows for boosting stopping power whenever you choose to press into the pad. In the future, we will be purchasing a friction tester so that we can run these tests ourselves, and also explore more advanced tests (for example, humidity resistance). We will also be advancing Pad Lab to improve the comparative power through a custom application.

We picked and matched the Imperium weave with a PORON® base to have the combination excel in Tactical First Person Shooters like Counter-Strike and Valorant. Testing was done in Counter-Strike through “stress testing” in custom maps and deathmatch. We think the pad performed exceptionally well and fits nicely within the category of “control” which was our goal. For the near future, we will only be manufacturing pads that fit in the “control” and “medium” speed category for use in the Tac FPS genre.

We hope when you try out this pad it meets, if not, exceeds your expectations.
